Komal Kothari

Hi! πŸ‘‹

I'm a scientist with good understanding of key ADME principles through hands-on experience supporting Phase-I clinical studies across therapeutic areas. Expert in the bioanalysis and quantification of 14C tracer studies using LSC, UHPLC/HPLC-AMS, and ß RAM systems in a GxP regulated environment.

Experience with the analysis of small molecules using LC-MS/MS, and Trap-and-Elute MS/MS for preclinical DMPK studies.

I am currently a Bioanalytical Scientist at Pharmaron.

I have a Masters in Pharmaceutical Science from University of Maryland, Baltimore πŸŽ“

If you'd like something more formal, check out my resume.

What I've done recently

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ”¬ Bioanalytical Scientist, Pharmaron

Performed over 20 studies which involved 14C labeled microtracer dose analysis and absolute bioavailability studies across matrices and programs using UPLC/HPLC-accelerator mass spectrometry(AMS) and UPLC-ß RAM using Agilent Openlab, LabLogic Laura, and GraphPad. Data helped to assess the ADME process of potential drug candidates to understand their pharmacological potential in humans.

πŸ”¬ Senior Associate Scientist, Pharmaron

Evaluated and implemented method transfer, sample preparations, extractions, validation, chemical concentration, and sample batch analysis for human IVPK studies. Analyzed 10,000+ clinical samples(LLOQ as low as 0.026 dpm/mL) with minimal rework and investigation.

πŸ’Š DMPK Bioanalysis and IVIVT co-op, GlaxoSmithKline

Tested the reproducibility of an inhouse CTC PAL3 RSI autosampler modified to function using a Trap-and-Elute methodology. Analyzed samples composed of various solvent combinations, and compared the data generated for two DMPK screening assays for GSK compounds across a wide chemical space.

πŸŽ“ Graduate Research Intern, Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research

Improved certain bactericides solubility by self-assembling the synthetic water-soluble macromolecules and nanoparticles (based on polyphosphazene backbone) by studying their formulation science, which is valuable because some bactericides possess significant limitations on their potential applications due to low solubility at neutral pH.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ Technical Assistant, Labtronik

Communicated daily with clients to streamline their instrument selection process by defining and explaining methodologies and how they could be applied to the client’s needs. Efforts led to better client-company relationships, helping improve sales of the instruments annually by 4%.
